Ministries

Spring Valley Ranch is a reality today because God provided a vision to Sam and Stacy Jones all the way back in 1978.  God’s vision for them was a place with hills, trees, and water to get away from the daily hustle and bustle and spend time with God.  Over the years God has brought people into their lives to impact this vision and God has continued to refine it through scripture and prayer.

The ministry of Spring Valley Ranch is summarized in our tag line, “Spring Valley Ranch; A Place to Go...and Get Away from the World”.  Our ministry at the ranch focuses on:

  • Family Enrichment
  • Pastoral Retreats
  • Hunting Ministries
  • Youth Leadership Development
  • Adventure Recreation & Learning

The scriptures teach us that God created the earth and that He provided physically for all of His creation through the earth, sky and water.  God created man and woman and then families evolved from the union of man and woman.  Sam and Stacy believe any wholesome opportunity that they can find to improve and enrich the family is worthy of their best effort.  Spring Valley Ranch offers miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking.  An adventure course is available for excitement and growth.  The Timbers Lodge is a great place to relax, work a puzzle, play a game of pool, watch a movie, play a board came, grill some steaks and have a sit down meal together.  Exciting ATV tours provide a great way to see the scenery as a family.

God showed Sam and Stacy how incredibly hectic a pastor’s life is through the life of Forrest “Frosty” Jackson.  Frosty was their pastor early in their marriage and taught them how a pastor should take care of his church family.  Because of the influence of Frosty and Barbara Jackson, God impressed upon Sam and Stacy the need to minister to the ministers.  The facilities at Spring Valley Ranch are available for pastoral family retreats, ministerial staff retreats and any other way we can be of service to provide for retreat, relaxation and invigoration of the ministers that serve Christ.

Hunting ministries provide an opportunity for the outdoorsmen to reach others for Christ through hunting.  Our desire is that Christian men and women, boys and girls who like to hunt will have the opportunity to hunt in a Christian environment and through our programming come closer to God.  Additionally, we hope that churches and individuals will use Spring Valley programming to reach out to the lost through hunting.

Spring Valley Ranch in conjunction with Challenge Quest has developed a program for Youth Leadership Development.  The goal is to provide programming that cultivates older youth leadership skills, thus helping our youth of today become the leaders of tomorrow in our communities through the United States and the world.  The Youth Leadership Development program is a two to three year program. Through parental involvement, youth pastor mentoring and program directives we will lead the youth through a series of experiences to help cultivate their understanding of themselves and the world around them.  Quarterly meetings provide opportunity for review and development as well as discussion focusing on the next 3 month’s activities.  The end of the first year wraps up with a wilderness mission journey, the second year concludes with an extreme mission experience outside the United States and finally the third year culminates the program with a personal pilgrimage.

Adventure Recreation is at the heart of Spring Valley Ranch.  God’s creation is full of adventure and our facilities are designed to help participants experience creation in an exciting environment.  Our staff is trained to help guests work through the challenge course programs, tour the 1100 acres on one of our ATV’s or side by side vehicles, use our sporting clay area for shooting, canoe or kayak the creek, work through an orienteering program or create an “Eco Challenge” involving all the adventure opportunities at the ranch.  These events can be tailored to older youth groups, adult groups, pastors or corporate groups looking for adventure learning opportunities at a Christ honoring facility.
